02Oct2010 Rocky Gap Adventure Race
Rocky Gap State Park – Flintstone, MD
- Sprint Adventure Race

- Segments: trekking, paddling, mountain biking, navigation
- 22-28 miles, 4-8 hours, Solos and Teams of 2 or 3
The sixth annual Rocky Gap Adventure Race is perfect for the sport level racer, achievable for the beginner, and challenging for the advanced level competitor. Racers must navigate their way to find a series of checkpoints as they bike along demanding semi-technical single-track, navigate up and over hills (on and off trail), and paddle the calm waters of a mountain lake. The exact order and distance of each segment is kept a secret until race day but we can tell you that the course will include the most mileage of biking, followed by trail running, and then paddling (a canoe for teams and kayaks for solos). There are also plenty of surprises, twists, and decision making in this race, all of which will cost or save your team time. This race has been a huge hit for the past five years and will surely be equally successful in 2010.
